The Jupiter is particularly effective at using this tactic when pared with long range, high damage or squadron based allies as they can attack unabated through the flak screen. Its flak screen is roughly three times larger than the other Battlestars, and can effectively be used to cover your entire fleet from ordinance all at once. Along with the DRADIS range which is mediocre at best, thus it must rely upon its escorts for early warning. Its only real weaknesses are its maneuverability which, unsurprisingly for a ship of its size, is limited, but not so poor as to be a serious liability. Vastly expensive but superior to the older Artemis Battlestar in almost every way, the Jupiter should replace it wherever possible. Like all Battlestars it's designed to fill almost every role at once, having very good durability and damage output alongside missile tubes, hangar bays and flak screens, it becomes a very useful vessel and as such the Jupiter is strong in all situations. It's battle prowess is so great that it outperforms any other ship in direct combat by a huge margin and can comfortably take on multiple threats at once with minimal damage. The Jupiter is a very large ship with extremely heavy armour and weaponry to match. The Jupiter's two fore and four ventral artillery pieces (merged image) (Outdated) This refit is known as a Jupiter Mark II battlestar and was done with the assistance of the disgraced Sinon Quade. Later in the war, the Jupiter class receives an upgrade with additional armor, a stronger hull and an additional squadron support slot. Production of the Jupiter class is limited by the Articles of Colonization, with only one to be built for each of the Twelve Colonies. Having one of the slowest munitions reload times means that if you have other, faster loading ships in your fleet then consider putting any less often used/specialized munitions on the Adamant, as you won't end up wasting the potential damage output of a faster loading vessel with torpedoes or missiles.Designed by Sinon Quade as a direct response to the rise in Cylon aggression, the Jupiter class is the pinnacle of Colonial battlestar design.Ī fine balance of size, armour and artillery make it the most powerful warship currently flying for Colonial Fleet. If your tactics involve having a long range missile/torpedo flotilla besieging the enemy, the Adamant makes for a very good escort ship having a squadron slot to use defensively with Vipers or Sweepers and being able to tank counter munitions. This along with the munitions which are on par for the slowest reload time, means one Adamant on it's own will quickly be overpowered by other vessels of superior weaponry.Īdamant's are strong enough to hold their own in a melee alongside gunships and Battlestars and this should be exploited whenever possible to make your firing lines just that much more powerful. While it is significant, it is not enough to hold any reasonable enemies at bay. While the Adamant does have the capability of supporting a fleet in many ways, it does suffer in a few aspects, specifically its firepower. This means it can stick around and keep fighting when many other vessels would tap out, even some that are considered superior. This allows the Adamant to fill a lot of roles and be useful in almost any battle.ĭespite being one of the smaller and cheaper vessels in the game, it boasts greater total armour than a Phobos or a Ranger putting it almost on par with a Revenant. The Adamant is very much a "jack of all trades" vessel: housing a hanger for a squadron, a set of torpedo tubes for munitions, strong armour for its size and significant firepower to match. ![]() The Adamant's small caliber broadside creates a limited but reliable stream of damage. What it lacks in speed, it makes up with its constant presence and firepower on the battlefield. Designed by Sinon Quade a decade before the start of the Cylon War, the Adamant carrier and cruiser combo has become the cornerstone of many Colonial fleet groups.
